Your answer is dead on and technically correct. Practically speaking though, there is very little time for general ATP knowledge questions during a type ride.
I've taken 3 type rides, BE-300, B737, and G200. My ATP was done with my King Air 350 type, and it, along with my other type ratings, consisted entirely of systems based knowledge on the applicable airframe. This is just my own personal experience.
