I couldn't care less about who I fly with, actually the more odd the guy is the better for entertainment. But still, I can't imagine a Captain actually giving me the AIM to look over, at 1500 hours. That's pretty lame, are you seriously surprised that he threw it in the trash? A little simple thing like "look over the AIM, since you don't seem to know non standard stuff" would have hurt his pride a lot more than actually forcing it upon him. LOL If I was him I would have taken that AIM and taped it on the panel the rest of the trip for reference.
