What does switching to Guard/Reserve have to do with staying employed until you get commissioned. The Guard/Reserve program is not an interim jobs program that gives you a paycheck until the AD is ready for you.

Sounds like you don't know what you want to do. You are willing to bail out of the AD option over a charter company job. That's all well and good, but you might want to figure out what you want before you do either one. Don't saddle your future squadron mates with a person who is not happy and therefore is a pain in the a** to be around and never carries his load.
