So people say get a degree outside of aviation.

I'm a UVSC student in my first semester. I'd like to get a more "marketable" degree, but the whole point of getting an aviation degree is so that I can receive funding from a private lender like Sallie Mae. Otherwise, there is really no way for me to afford my flight training.

* Unless someone knows of a loophole somewhere that states that I can keep the $50k I borrowed from Aunt Sallie to continue with flight school and just get a degree in something far more interesting like a BS in Film Critique.

Plus getting a more marketable degree like accounting or business management would absolutely drive me crazy. How could I go from flying around in the sky to sitting in a grey cubicle, number crunching for some shmoe who didn't organize his tax forms accordingly. Yikes!
