The interesting thing about DTW is despite having a 2+2 layout already, they have installed a second set of localizers that are offset, and are going to be able to perform dual PRM approaches to increase capacity in so-so weather...so they say.
So far, I'm not a fan of PRM. MSP was one of the test bed cities, and it was an epic fail there. We were told that if even 1 aircraft had to be broken out, it trashed the gain from the system. The capacity gain from 17/35 did more for MSP than PRM ever did.
I like DTW quite a lot, as a place to be based, and to fly in/out of with minimal hassles. I wish there were more food choices, though...
