I think I saw a thread like this a long time ago, but I'm unable to locate it via the search function, so forgive me if it is redundant. I am looking for new shoes to wear to work. Preferably a pair I wouldn't have to remove during security (I commute). My present pair, black Ariat Ropers have served me well for a couple of years but they are toast. I would go with the Ropers again, but I am a distance runner and have chronic Achilles/heel problems, so I am looking for a "normal" shoe that could be at least as durable as my Ropers were.

In the past, I have worn dress shoes to work and completely destroyed them in under 6 months. I used to wear Doc Martens, which worked fine and were comfortable, but have since decided that they were not appropriate for this job. What do you guys wear/love?
