Let me add a third Frontier pilot to the mix by saying I was not pleased by the Southwest offer and am happy with the outcome.

Here's a rough assessment of the numbers at Frontier if the Southwest offer would have won-

approximately 55 on furlough
approximately 25 on voluntary furlough
an additional 120 Frontier FO's furloughed (SWA) due to staffing adjustments

The remainder of the FO's receive an approximately $40 an hour pay increase. In return they commute to reserve (not sure where the junior Southwest base is).

All captains' maintain current pay rate until higher at Southwest. Now FOs at Southwest commuting to reserve.

As a mid-range captain my pay rate is approximately 130 an hour. With the upgrades at Southwest predicted to be around 12+ years, I would be looking at a $2 pay raise over the next 12 years, commuting for the next 5 (and again to upgrade), and sitting reserve for the next several years.

I am content to roll the dice with Republic. For what it's worth, I love my job. I work with a great bunch of people fly good equipment, with great work rules/scheduling. I don't like to commute and I don't like reserve.

Take care
