I am considering a career as an airline pilot and have vicited and considered a few options. I would love to be a pilot, my main concern is whether I would get hired, because attending a school or academy would be a large investment and require much sacrifice. I had 3 brief hospital stays about 3-5 years ago because of depression. Would this or anything else hinder my chances of being hired?
My 21 year-old sister was taking depression meds back in high school for 3 months and then was cleared by her doctor to be fine. Now 3 years later when she applied for her student medical to start training she had one hell of a journey try to get one. She finally did, about 9 months after initally going to the doctor. But plan on going through doctors, laywers, & people in OKC that don't know their "you-know-what" from a hole in the ground. Best of Luck!
