I'm 25 years old and I have a four year degree in Business but for the past year and half I've been working in retail as a manager, and I know without a doubt that this is not a job a want to make a career out of. But I also don't want to jump into something that isn't any better. What advice or words of wisdom do you have for me?
There's a lot of people out there just like you. They have a decent job, but they're not completely satisfied and probably always thought flying would be a fun and rewarding career. So they blow their entire savings and probably some of mom/dad/grandma's gift money to get their ratings, then spend the next few years making 20 grand, possibly get furloughed a time or two, and then they think to themselves, "man this career really stinks," but they can't get out because they've spent so much money and time working towards this career and they want to save face around mom/dad/grandma and friends so they get stuck in this lousy career. In my opinion, I think you would be much more successful staying in the business field. Look for something in business that would make you happy, i'm sure being a manager in retail is not what you want to do, but at 25 it seems like you're on the right track to a better career and a better life than you would find in aviation.
