Default Starting off with a PPL

Good day all,

I hope this is not a repeat question, but I have been looking for a good flight school for a PPL (much like 3504956 members on this forum). However I'd like to consider schools up and down the east coast.

Currently I can fly to other cities to attend the flight school. As I have read other threads, I do agree that a local FBO might be the way to go for a PPL. I would like to move on the the military from my PPL (ANG most likely) and later on look to transition to a Professional Pilot position (not limited to passenger airlines).

Getting back the question at hand, can anyone recommend a good, solid no-BS school where I will learn from instructors who are not just trying to build hours on my money? I am in the NY metro area, but if I can find a good school at a good rate in another city, I am open to the idea.
