Derthick has the slight lead over Thrush (IMO)... I'm not one to get all lathered up by bull feces, so Thrush is refreshing in that sense. Derthick has the advantage of position in that he's obviously privy to discussions BT isn't. I do like Derthick's calm, even demeanor... but I also like Thrush's impatience with the status quo. The best part had to be when Farley tried to suggest they had been working VERY hard on the over-8 hr issue (for 6 freaking YEARS already!) and Thrush said it was every IPA member's right to finally raise the BS flag and notify the FAA (via whistleblower).
Perhaps the optimum scenario is for Derthick to win and appoint Thrush to a more prominent grievance/contract enforcement/negotiating position. Thrush is a huge advantage in the right capacity, but Farley is dead weight and the sooner he bows ought the better.
Oh... as far as secretary... Kalfas is the clear choice. Whyte's a great guy, but Kalfas is the level-headed, future president we need on the board. Again, JMO.
Avg, I like BOB, talked to him a couple of times on the phone when he was in grievance. He is a pitbull and a hammer in every sense of the word! Like a bit bull I want him to protect and defend our contract! I am not sure though that I want a pit bull around my kids! Bobs biggest problem is his mouth! After watching the video I take away the same thing! You can't run for a office and then shove your foot in your mouth on the B&G buy getting your facts wrong and other inaccuracy's. What does that say about someones SA. Over night BT has turned off the bottom 300 who have the most to lose here and I for one don't want to be on the street! Scott might not be ready but I think he will be able to bring a fresh outlook and save my job! I am ready to stand by my decison and deal with it. Just my .02!
