I found it quite interesting to note that only 550 crew members participated in the MOU (exclusive of the sick give-away). The bottom line is that when a company is overstaffed, it lays off. That's the way the rest of society operates and I don't believe we should view it as a failure if that's what happens here. Unfortunately, that's the way our economic system works in periods of contraction. I know that sounds unsympathetic, but that's not my intention. I'm not a big, fluffy language, lots of BS type of guy.

But what will really sting if furloughed is that a lot of us in the bottom 300 are bidding RDG lines/job share/leave etc trying to save jobs, only to be thrown out in the street...I wish that there was a clause in the MOU saying that anyone furloughed would get back what they gave up to help them "weather the storm"... a lot of us are still trying to catch up from previous furloughs etc.....To take a big pay hit and then hit the street is not going to be good....
