I know this could be comparing apples to oranges; however, in four other airplanes I've flown, the Flight Directors were not to be used until you were stabilized at V2 (OEI) or V2+10 V2+20 (AEO).
In all cases, the primary instrument for rotation was the airspeed indicator.
In the RJ the FD on takeoff will give 15 degrees nose up and +/- 5 degrees lateral in takeoff mode as a guide. After rotation and once stabilized we then select our speed and lateral modes.
