I my opinion, ALPAs legal department is the reason Midwest pilots had no scope protection. We paid like 8 million to ALPA to management our labor contract with Midwest. The most important part was to write a Fair and Binding labor contract.
Failed, the Midwest contract has weak language and major holes.
ALPA seems to only care about the legacy carriers. ALPA is still supporting the Midwest pilots in this integration issue, but on the other hand they are legally required to back us.
After reading the Republic contract, I have to say I thought that Teamsters maybe the better labor union. Add the deaf ear paid to Midwest pilots with integration rights. Maybe a in house union would be best.
Who is running the show at Republic? Teamster National, EXCO, Legal staff
