No. It's about Avgas that costs four times as much as it does here and the fees you pay each time you key the mike or the wheels touch the pavement. It's all about the money. To say that flight schools in Europe, Canada or Australia are somehow inferior is quite arrogant, IMO, especially since most of us would probably have a tough time passing the JAR tests.
Cheap gas can be found in other parts of the world.... Far cheaper than US. In virtually every one of those countries, their pilots are sent to the western world because that's where the infrastructure is (sims and instructors).
Of course, USA is the best at everything, and all training should be
here. Best, best, best. Just ask any American (ok, you might not have to ask).
