I was there, and had a couple of 40 day stints on the road (one was 42 days). And yes, they did count days off on the road (sort of). I bid a line that had split the days off. They left me sitting in the hotel in ANC for those days off. (In their defense, they paid me for them, and did not try to call them actual days off-- however having been a newlywed at the time, all I wanted was to go home). So, yes, it did (and still does from what I hear) happen.

Although, nowadays, 20 days out isn't so bad.......
