The individual may well not get elected to the board but, he will get votes and he will have a following of people who agree with his position. When he speaks in a formal setting like the forum it has an impact on the people who would be forced to give something up and it will provoke a reaction from them. For it to have been or be more than voluntary it would have had to go to a vote of the membership, given the time constraints when this manifested itself I think a vote in favor would have been tough to get and that the voluntary route was the best way to go.
No concessions. A group vote on the MOU so we all give equally. If it passes fine, if not, let the chips fall where they may. This business of some giving too much(3 yrs at 50% pay) and some not enough(0%) is divisive and b.s.
