It does build up. Just don't spend it. Unless FedEx builds sick time at a faster rate then us its the same in the end. Just stick your sick check in the bank and use it as a emergency/strike fund.
Why not control the money yourself instead of letting the company use it for decades.
Which is the reason we have the buyout every year. It does drive up the cost of the mutual aid plan because people hit the plan quicker than they would if there was a larger number of hours in the bank. When the mutual aid was set up it didn't cover everything it does now.
Then there is the part about keeping your spouse away from the check every year
