Understood and agree, most would not have known that any donation of sick leave was acceptable. The MOU was meaning and intent on the run plus negotiations all wrapped in one. We did have the call in capability, but that too was active not passive on the IPA member. Additionally, many had an honest debate about the sick leave aspect of the amended MOU since it did actually refund earned income, not just volunteer time off with benefits and get time off in return.
The challenge was communicating that info effectively.
Like anything, easy to hindsight the details.
At the risk of giving top secret info to mgt, unity does has its benefits at this juncture. Participation serves more purpose than what we "give". They will decide personnel changes regardless. A message is the best offense to our current and future (contract) situation.
