Yep, all airplanes that I've flown have a very distinct way of telling you that you didn't kick out all the crab!
As someone who's seen a few GA airplanes lose directional control I'm not a fan of the practice unless there's not an option that is better. Even if the airplane can 'take' it, it seems to me to be a lot of stress on the airframe and undercarriage... Meh!
