I think they are telling the truth, I think it would be better for them if they had fallen asleep, because of fatigue, had they been sleeping it probably wouldnt have been willful, but involuntary. Remember being on laptops sounds innocuous, but it is a violation of a FOM therefore a willful and wanton violation of the FAR's, plain and simple. That is what cost them their certs...not the overflight.

You think they were so engrossed in their laptops, that they didn't once look up in over an hour to ascertain their position?? Made no attempt to communicate with ANYONE?? Are you serious? Must have been some sort of captivating computer program
