All of us know the feeling about wanting to get hired on by an airline, however just keep busting out hours and get the flight time and we will hire within the year i believe. BTW: Everyone stop picking up open time. Ive never done it, im on rsv and need money BAD just like everyone else. We have guys on the street, stop picking up open time and things will change around here (yeah yeah, flame suit on after that last comment).
I won't badmouth you one bit. I can honestly say that since we furloughed guys, I've only pick up an open trip once and it was to cover the time I dropped in a different part of the month. I would feel really bad about "padding my pockets" when some of my more junior co-workers are without work or worse (flipping burgers).
The more open trips out there, the more pilots we need to cover them. We are running out of pilots almost daily on the ATR and there aren't even that many trips in open time.
Just think that if 5 pilots each pick up one 3 or 4 day trip each, that is one whole line that a furloughed pilot could be flying. I mean no ill will toward those who choose to pick up OT, but come on guys, lets get all our people back on payroll as soon as we can!!!
