In the drama filled saga of the legacy/regional relationship, when has the tail EVER wagged the dog? Especially when the dog has multiple tails?

That's a good point.

First off, the JS is a privilege, NOT a right.

Second, can you say with absolute confidence that you're SA on that issue as well as your facts are 100% correct as to the chain of events when that fiasco went down? Are you aware of the circumstances that went on for a lengthy period of time before it came down to that letter being put out?

A similar issue could have very easily happened at the company I work that feeds a certain legacy. The JS people at BOTH companies knew the issue was going to come up, so they took steps to curtail it BEFORE it had a chance to manifest.

Maybe one of the UAX JC coordinators who occasionally posts on here can chime in with the facts and dispel the ignorance.
Yes, the dog has multiple tails and they tried to wag. Yes, this was a problem with United's computer system, which United Express contract carriers chose to use for the sorting of jumpseat priority, instead of putting their own money to run the system. Then Express wanted Ual pilots to bail them out using their own capital. Hey Chief, i must tell you, it's very simple. Pilot A, B, and C walk to the cockpit, and the "C"aptain determines who goes. But, the Express captain's didn't have the cajones to exercise their "c'aptains authority. I will never say vacuum tubes are perfect.

Say what you want, but you referred to "United Express routes", which is utter rubbish. Secondly, I had a fistful of those letters from the Express Js coordinators, and they were meant as a political tool. Let me say it again, "you never use the jumpseat as a weapon." I spent two years flying 135, and five years at a 121 commuter. I was always treated with respect from the majors. If you don't want to be treated like a neophyte, don't resemble one.

United, Continental, Delta, American, Usair own the routes! The jumpseat is not a weapon. it is a privilege, "and" a right. U get it?! Don't be a shi$ and you can ride it.
