I love the Air Force. I'll never forget the experiences I've had there. However, the USAF is one of the most mismanaged entities out there. And for those of us who were simply trying to make things better, more efficient, and trying to do the right thing, I am very glad I gave it up and moved on.
There's much more to life than a paycheck. If you are happy in the Air Force, stay. If you are not, leave. It's that simple.
I could not agree with you more about the Air Force being mismanaged. (They need more leaders, not managers. But that is a different topic). I did only mention the pay because the thread was about ACP. The AF does also provide job security but at a cost(deployments, TDY's, desk jobs, etc). I did 22 years in the AD, reserves and guard and right now my pension comes in handy after my mismanaged legacy fuloughed me for the second time. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the time off and look at it as a mid-life temporary retirement, but without the pension things could be worse.
