FR8Hauler, I'm not missing his point. Of course he'd rather be home. Who wouldn't. Perhaps it's you whose missing my point.

FDXLAG, Whereas I understand your frustration, again I'd suggest that you're missing my point.

Parks31, Thank you, kind sir!

For those of you who didn't understand what I was saying, or chose to disregard it, so that you could concentrate on the unfairness of what you seem to think is the company being nasty to you, I give you the following:

This proverb has been phrased several different ways in English, but the most common seems to be "I cried because I had no shoes.....and then I met a man who had no feet." For those of you who are slow, the point I was making in my initial post was that this Christmas in Memphis thing is just another speed bump on the highway of life. You don't have to like it, but it is one of those distressing little events that happen from time to time. Perhaps dwelling on the positive would be more beneficial. After all, I hear the hookers in Memphis give a 25% discount on Christmas Eve, New Years Eve and New Years Day, and a few other select holidays.

Just so you don't think that I have feelings, I'll relate this little story. When I was in the right seat of the Bus, I had a reserve trip, on my last day, which also happened to be on Dec 24th, that operated Mem to IAD, with a deadhead at IAD, after a layover. The captain and I operated the jet, and his wife who was a USAirways pilot, jumpseated up to IAD with us. I had bought a ticket home, while the captain and his wife were going to the National Cathedral to celebrate Midnight Mass. All was right with the world until we landed in IAD and upon shutdown were told by the ramp agent that we were going to fly the jet back to Mempho. No if's and's or but's. So after about a 2 hour layover, we (all three of us) flew back to Memphis, arriving around 1AM. Luckily for them (the capt and his wife), they lived in Germantown. Me, I slept in a recliner until I could get the first flight out in the morning. So much for my Christmas.
