Fly it low and slow without the GPS. You'll be amazed at how much fun you'll have when you have nothing else to do when flying but fly.

In all seriousness, the Garmins are well known, and user friendly. I haven't had any in-flight experience with the Lorance but they seem to have more capability for the money.
