Supposedly the Feds are all over the training facility and see that North and South cockpits are run two different ways. That disturbs them but they may or may not have enough power to stop the train. Also, since the syllabus has to be created it probably would not start until June, the month the new annual recurrent syllabus is started. That means a few things: 1)No joint bid for 1.5 yrs and 2) When the co moves metal it will be only N/S guys bidding their "former" metal. I do not see the co objecting too much to this because it will drastically cut the training costs that could occur from a joint post-SOC bid. Supposedly a full initial is $60k per pilot. Just another of a long line of rumors but it is as believable as others.
I find this hard to believe. Not saying it isn't possible, but hard to believe. Also, as of phase 4, we operate the metal the same way whether on the N or S side (I think the only thing really left to change is AWABS?? and dispatch release). The N side is just completing phase 2 of the indoc on-line. I would ask the DGS and Feds "What are the 2 different ways in which the aircraft are operated differently (with specifics)? The N 757 guys are currently going through 767 differences in ATL as we speak. Nice rumor, depending where you sit, but I don't put much credence in it.
