I wonder if a lot of DTW guys switch to NYC/ATL, then the 330 becomes more attainable. So people move into the 330, then the rest of DTW becomes more seniority friendly and commuters that were going to a ever more senior ATL move towards DTW, especially if there is a 777 base there.... I just wonder/hope if its a wash. You know when your faced with commuting or you are a commuter you just see the world different. I'd love NYC ER again, but it depends on what DTW or MEM offers, etc. I think guys need to bone up on bidding on % in an AE, I know on my MD I will.

As far as DTW, if you're driving an hour to your condo, that's too far. There are some very nice areas (Canton, Novi, Plymouth) that are only 20 minutes from the airport with very good deals. I wouldn't reccomend wasteland or Pontiac, though Livonia is good.
DTW is a good place. ATL is what sucks. Especially the 88. I mean the Boeings are phenomenal, the Airbuses are great, the DC9 is old because its a good safe plane despite being a crotch rocket, the 88 is just a screw job. They took a good plane in the 9 and tried to stretch it into an intercontinental jet and failed miserably. Its stupid dangerous. Lethal. Explosive. I'd run from that plane, especially in ATL. I'd be bidding to sit sideways on the 727 in the desert all day than to be ATL 88 B. And if there is an A320 base in ATL, I might start saying the same about that flying coffin... if it comes here.

SD mentioned that they were going to add 320 positions to SLC without subtracting positions from MSP. That means that there will be more positions than there are now. Well did he admit something with out admitting it......
If we are not increasing total positions company wide, we would need to cut positions from somewhere else. Me thinks that this was them admitting they were adding more positions than pilots. (Well hoping)
So if they are not going to draw down A320 MSP despite moving planes, then that is a very good thing.

I'd just like to say that the S2B thing for a family member over the holidays is nice. But I also like Republic Airways contract, 4 hours for flying on a holiday tacked on to whatever you make on the month.
