AMR owns Eagle, the others are outside subcontractors.
By using Eagle the money all stays at AMR, not providing profits to subcontractors who then go out and buy two large plane operators in the same season and are now direct competitors to AMR on several routes...
Does that help explain why subcontractor airlines do nothing to help the industry...
