Without knowing the number of pilots who would accept a recall, perhaps part of the plan was to give enough time to figure out how many new hires to get into the system and allow enough time to get them through IOE and out onto the line in time for May 1st.
What they should have done was made this whole thing less official and should have been more upfront that they didn't know anything. It was a big inconvenience. I'll buy the whole thing that it was stipulated to notice the pilots but they should have just called us. Like the flight manager tried to call about 5 times to make sure that I found out that we didn't get the flying. Thanks a lot...
