The possibility of hiring is not coming from an IT flunky- it is coming from connecting the dots and well founded rumors (keep in mind it is the 'r' word) for sharply increased utilization of current equipment (due to the pull back aircraft are not flying near what they can). I've heard 7% as a realistic uptick... upwards of 15% which i think is way over the top.
Remember LGA is planning on being hubbed up, as well as international routes are beginning to come back.
As far as staying at a regional or becoming 'furlough fodder' at a legacy. I came to DL while still in bankruptcy and the usair takeover was given up only a couple days before I started class. I never looked back and it was the best decision (no brainer) of my career.
