Southwest is interviewing pilots the weeks of the 16th and 23rd of May. Will continue to interview two weeks per month through the summer. The call-outs for the May interviewees have already been made.

SWA interviews 12 per day during the weeks it holds interviews. Currently 100% are type rated in the 737 due to volume of applicants with the rating.

New-hire classes contain up to 24 pilots in them, most are around 20.

Over 300 hired so far in 2005. Forecasted to hire over 400 this year, and up to 500 in 2006.
