When I was there in 93, we were told that FloridaGulf (Mesa) would only be taking the "unprofitable routes"

When I was there in 95, we were told flow through was "imminent"

When I was there in 96, we were told that the dozens of RJs that Mesa had just ordered would come no where near the USAir system.

When they merged with ALG, did they double in size? No...they got rid of half their lift.

Did PDT, the more "mature and experienced" operator with the best operational stats and one of the first airlines anywhere with AQP get the RJs that finally did come to the wholly owneds? No, they went to the low cost operator that was flying Jetstream 31s under part 135 only a few years before.

The only reason that any of the above was tolerable was PDT had one of the top contracts in the country and desirable crew bases. Now those are gone, too.

Point is, PDT serves an extremely limited nitche within LCC. It will never be more than what it is. You guys are hearing all the same promises guys have been getting for the last 20 years there, and nothing has changed one bit.

I didn't mean to belittle your news. In PDT terms, a 5 or 6 net gain of airplanes certainly is BIG news.

Ah, there is that elitist attitude we all enjoy on every message board you use.
