Uniform button question...

How long can I expect to go before the buttons on my jacket wear completely out?

Leaving room: 4 buttons on, Getting into van: 4 buttons off,
Out of van: 4 buttons on, Entering security: 4 buttons off, Leaving security: 4 buttons on, Entering cockpit: 4 buttons off.

Repeat in reverse order at next layover.

Who's idea was this anyway??? They MUST be retired and laughing their a$$es off about now.
