If you choose to live all the way across the country, then professionalism requires that you show up properly rested for your flight. I agree with you 100%. Crewmembers have the responsibility to show up for work rested. If it takes getting in place 24 hours early, than so be it. Live where you want, but understand your responsibilities. Unfortunately, the aviation community is just like any other community, in that there will always be individuals who think that they can get by by doing the least that they can. However, in this business, unlike most other professions, we need to be at the top of our game virtually 100% of the time.
