When one pilot retires it puts 9 to 12 in training for a new position. Your looking at 9 to 12 pilots on full pay for 2-4 months not flying one revenue trip. Very, very expensive!
Wow Hunter, you have figured out that training costs the company money. Congrats sonny. The hypothetical captain still gets replaced by a new hire or a furloughee.
