A majority of the events reported require judgement, people skills, and technical knowledge. Human involvement is still critical.
Sure it is important to have human involvement. However in the future that involvement will come from the ground as well.
Just think of what an anti-terrorist arrangement it would be to have planes controlled from the ground or sky.
