I respect your opinion Bob, but I don't necessarily agree with it. Do you really think that the rantings of Archie Bunker on the APC message boards is going to have an effect, one way or the other, on somebody fence sitting on the issue of whether to contribute to the MOU or not? I'm betting no. If somebody wanted to contribute, they would have already done it. I mean really, what are they waiting for...Christmas?

The fact of the matter is that the MOU will never pass in its current form...no way, no how. We will never meet our goal of $42 million. The only hope we have is if the company accepts the cash savings we offer them on Dec 31st, and they continue to delay the furloughs. Otherwise, the only other course of action for the company is to issue the furlough notices in January.

Not unless you have a layover in SAN. I'm on a VLOA right now living off my savings and investments, but I have a great dive bar I frequent about 5 min from downtown. Great people, strong and inexpensive drinks, orange naugahyde booths...everything that an upscale, high rolling UPS Captain would want.
Fair enough. Just know that there MAY well be one or more who want to give but will be looking for any excuse not to. Perhaps they may not be fazed by a post, but a buddy of theirs is...he goes on a rant and that is the final drop in the bucket. I just don't see the upside versus illustrating the lifestyle enhancement angle. I may have actually sold a couple of guys in CGN a couple of weeks ago with the angle of using an RDG to get three months off (or more) using his 5 weeks of vacation in a bid period preceding or following the RDG. He actually hadn't thought of it.

As for naugahyde....I'm there! You just can't buy the atmosphere that stuff makes anymore. If I have a long ONT maybe I'll make the hajj down there and we can regale the glory legacy carrier days.
