Your view of those senoir guys is that they have life pretty easy. They may have it easy...now....but you might want to look back at what their lives were like when they started here. It wasn't much different from what you are dealing with in your life today.

The majority came from failed airlines. They had lost their jobs, retirement.....everything..... before they came to UPS. It was a running joke for years that you could not get hired at UPS unless you were already chapter 11 qualified. Yes they walked in here as a captain, at a whopping $61,500 per year, which was about half what the majors were paying at the time.

In addition, with a divorce rate among our crewmembers exceeding 70%, and a family court system that loves to award the divorced spouses of "rich airline pilots" huge payments, the financial drian on many of our senior captains today would make your eyes water.

Yes there are some that are self centered or simply financial idiots, but I have not found that to be the norm.
