Agree 100%. As a lifelong commuter, I am all for anything that makes commuting easier. However, as someone who has commuted to NYC for 13 years, getting an open seat has NOT been a problem. The problem is that when things go bad, they go bad quickly and often for long periods of time. Thunderstorms in the summer, adverse winds in the fall, and snow in the winter create indefinite ground stops or Wheels Up times that are several hours in the future at all three airports. The problem isn't that there are no seats. The problem is that nothing is getting in there.

If we get postive space I'll vote for it, but it's unlikely to help NYC. I'd rather have help with more commutable trips which we have few of on my category.
Let me be the first to say that the ER lines around my seniority (76ish%) in NYC BLEW this month. Sad to see how things went downhill up there...

I can't imagine 6 commutes to that craphole!
