Its not very hard to argue that Republic is bringing down "average" for our profession and that their ceased existence would improve things for this career.
So the loss of all jobs at F9 and Midwest would have been better for this career? Do you not think if Republic didn't venture down this road no other regional with extra cash would have? This industry has been brought down since any airline allowed a regional to fly more than 50 seats. I love how everyone could care less about someone flying around an 84 seat jet for less then we (RAH) make flying 50 seaters, but as soon as we hit 99 or 100 seats the industry suddenly has been brought down. We have not taken any concessions sine 9/11 to secure flying and are in the process of establishing 190 pay rates. We are also working on integration and trying to get the Midwest guys and gals back on property. I can honestly say everyone person I fly with agrees with me when I say that if we could just snap our fingers and have 190 pay and every Midwest person on property we would. Anyone in this business with proper knowledge knows this is impossible. Further, a strike for the actions taken by our company would be illegal, period! I hope we can bring good things to our industry in the future, not bring it down. Most of us came here to get hours and move on the a major, we didn't want to buy one and none of us would have voted (if given the choice) to do this. All I'm asking is not to place any blame on the individual pilot, we all want and feel how everyone else does. Merry Christmas!
