As a senior north wide body copilot the above is true with one exception. I was retiring early as were other people I know. But now the talk of early retirement is over among the guys I knew that were considering it because of the lack of medical coverage under the DAL contract as to what we had under the NWA contract. Also Captians are sticking around until the are 62.5 at least because of the health insurance issue. This is slowing down the retirements that would normally happen.

For the DAL south guys, I am not bidding into the 76 a seat and have not talked to any 744b guys that are senior that are going to maybe one or two but who knows where the 63 displaced guys will bid into. Most of them are commuters--my guess is the highest paying position that is an easy commute for them.

Good luck.
