With ya, understand the frustration. You won't unite with this individual. On the flip side, I don't allow the few to destroy and poison the well of the majority. Marginalize their efforts. How? know the contract and won't waive same. Often, UPS counts on the whole crew to waive the contract to get the flight out. Call me the fly in the opintment. Also won't give the "me" only any soapbox by generally concentrating on the success of the majority.
Last round, many of these folks went on to become supervisors. Sounds like you just flew with one.
