UPS can think what they want but just because we were willing to volunteer to save jobs this time around doesn't mean we will fold for contract negotiations. They wanted to open up the contract and we said no. Apples and oranges IMO.
Why do you think the MOU was a bad idea? What would have been your solution? If UPS furloughed, your pretty life in SDF would be over. We'd be freezing our wing dings off in ANC....of course since your wife stays home, you'd probably move up there and get to continue your wonderful life of reserve up there. All of us don't have that option. I am for the MOU and it just floors me how little regard people have for 300 guys/gals on the chopping block. People just can't seem to put themselves in other's shoes these days.
The potential problem lies in if they think we're willing to give up something to put this in the next contract. I'm not, and doubt you are either.
