The company has to use your vacation first for FMLA. Please note that you have twelve months to use your twelve weeks of FMLA (write that down). Depending on when the child is born, and how senior you are, you may want to delay until a time of your liking...

CPO's can be a little useless when it comes to FMLA, and not understand the law, and the full flexibility that you enjoy. I spoke to one guy who's CP tried to talk him out of a very important operation during a certain time of the year. There is a lady that runs this stuff, who understands the law better than a CPO.
