Fence it off for a bit to keep the initial shock as minimal as possible, and then have it be done with....
If the negotiations drag out I might be able to settle for a 30 year fence. Anything else would be highly unfair to junior Delta guys who skipped AK, LUV, B6 and others to get to the WB flying with a Legacy. 30 years will also be in line with career expectations. This might sounds harsh, but think about it, it is not comparable to the NWA / DAL merger as far as eqipment is concerned. If we implement same pay for all aircrafts, which in reality is the only fair way of pilot compensation, I would still go for a 30 year fence. One thing I would also go for is to get ALL furloughed pilots from AK back flying before SLI.
