I know it's going to be a long distance. But I want to fly a regional first for a couple of years (3 to 5) and then go to a major. I'm 22 so I'm young enough to do this type of movement. I just want that by the age of 26 to 28 start in a major airline. I know that I have to start at the bottom but... that's part of the career right?
So I'm not scare of displacement or changing airplanes...I just want a job and go into the 121 line.
Thats not a bad attitude to have. Its definitly a real possiblity. I was hired at my first when I was 21, then got hired EGL at 22. Now, being old as the hills at 25, with a couple thousand hours of jet time and around 4k hrs. i'm ready to move on. I don't want to do five legs a day for 12-14hrs of duty time. I want get in the airplane and go to SoCal in one shot. For the amt of time I spend flying around BOS JFK DCA RDU in one day I could go to JFK to CDG. To each is own though. Some guys like it and will stay. Thats great, less compeition for me

I'm hoping by next yr a few of my target airlines will start hiring. JB and DAL. i like both of them. That puts me at 26-27yrs old. I spent my last few yrs building a network for reccomendations. It can be done. So once you get in, make friends with a lot ppl. People lead to people. Good Luck.
