I'm reading these post by a couple of you who are claiming to "educate" the younger folks, which is cool and all, but everyone has/had different experiences. Yeah, if the opportunity comes, I'm jumping ship too. But working at Eagle isn't too much different than working at some of the other regionals.

Everyone has their ups and downs, pros and cons. So far, everything my old man told me about 121 life has come true and he used to work for ATA and that's not a regional.

This job is a piece of cake. For the folks who whine and complain, I challenge you to spend 7 days straight for 3 months to a year turing wrenches in the middle of the desert, in a combat zone trying to generate combat aircraft for sorties. Sitting RSV is waaay better than that B.S. Did that crap for 13 years fellas!

So for me, the grass is greener, a different shade of green, but greener.

I picked Eagle because I wanted to live in Dallas and was ready to make the transition from active duty AF maintenance to flying professionally. I was 32 so way to old for military flyng and didn't have the mins for anyone else (I had 1200TT 100ME). I also got hired my Mesaba and Piedmont.

Does the pay suck? Yup!! If you have no other income. Does RSV suck? Yup! Does upgrade time suck? Yup! But for some of us, that's not on the radar.

Here's a question, where should these guys start if the regionals aren't the answer? Where should I have started? CFI'n? Fly'n check's? Continue to fly pipeline?

I don't plan to stay here my entire career. But if I have to, I will. Am I any less of a person if I do?

If there is better, hook me up with a job.
