One of the problems with making denials and statements is that when you fail to make one in the future it is seen as sending another message. That is why this management team rarely says a lot. The message they are trying to send is that Sky Team is good for JAL and will partner with JAL to build a better alliance. AMR is basically saying, you are doomed if you shun our brilliance. A rare misstep for the AMR management team that is usually pretty sharp.
