Last year there was a resolution to poll the pilot group if they would like changes to the way we are all paid. I asked a MEM rep what happened to it . Was told that Moak did not like it so it was shot down. I do not know when the old Delta pay chart was put into place, but if it was last done in 1986.... it should now be paid out at $5000 for inflation indexing.
How many times has the same version of this type of story gone around? The MEC wanted XXXX to improve our contract but Moak said no. This is such baloney. If the MEC wanted to do something, they just have to vote it and it is the policy of the union. What are they, a bunch of grade school sissies? There is a small cadre of weak minded individuals who have found that the easiest thing to do is blame everything on Moak. If this MEM rep felt so strongly, then why didn't he run for election last January.
If the MEM rep said this, then it is a classic case of pass the buck leadership. Remember the MEC chairman works for him, not the other way around. So here is a boss passing off any failures to his subordinates. Profiles in courage. What is his leadership motto, "The buck stops with whomever I can blame it on."? Based on the other actions I have seen out of MEM it doesn't surprise me.
